- If there's any non-RPI controllerless external modem, it's news to me.
- Our controllerless modems are all PC-internal designs. Because they
- don't require a microcontroller and associated memory, they cost less
- to build. If you're running Windows (3.1, -for Workgroups, 95) they are
- more than "half way decent." They just aren't external.

- If I sound a bit defensive, it's because someone might read Anthony's
- words to mean that a modem that's partially implemented in software is
- not decent. I won't make any claim about RPI, but the AT&T
- Microelectronics / Lucent Technologies controllerless modems work great
- with any application in Windows.
